Share Your Fitness Advice

By Debbie Wilson

Anna Kournikova is a tennis star, and she's got a lot of fitness advice and personal training skills to offer as well. During her tennis hiatus, she plans to concentrate on her new fitness advice column, helping others get in shape and keep their bodies healthy and strong. This challenge is a new career choice for Anna, and it could be for you too. If you love maintaining a healthy lifestyle and want to work with others, consider a career as a fitness instructor.

Fitness advice and personal training involves much more than diet and exercise. It is a complete lifestyle change. Sports stars like Anna Kournikova stay fit through extensive training and a daily eating regime. However, for the average individual, keeping in shape presents a much more difficult challenge. After trying multitudes of diets and programs, many people are ready to throw in the towel and live a life of fitness mediocrity. This is where someone like you comes in.

Personal Trainer/Fitness Advice 101

Being a personal trainer can be a truly rewarding and challenging career. Not only do you get the opportunity to help people meet their fitness goals and dreams, but you also get to help change lifelong habits and emotions. The first pre-requisite will be your desire to work with people from all walks of life. Without excellent communication, your personal training skills will never come to their true fruition. Second, you will need to have the ability to motivate, challenge, and reward. This entails taking a large task, like losing excessive weight or developing a "hot" body, and breaking it down into manageable steps. Finally, you will need the proper training and certification to instruct individuals on diet and exercise programs. There are many accredited universities, colleges, and private schools that offer degrees in physical fitness, athletic training, physical therapy, massage therapy, and rehabilitation.

So go ahead and share your fitness advice with others. And just like Anna, you could be reshaping lifestyles into healthy and physically fit choices.
